About Dr. Davis . . .
Dr. Davis received his
undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina. Continuing his
education at the Medical College of Georgia, he earned his dental degree in
1980. Having grown up in the Metro Atlanta area, Dr. Davis and his wife,
Julia, returned to establish practice and residence in Gwinnett County.
Dr. Davis and Julia spend time involved in the activities of their children
Kathleen, Alex, and Piper. They also enjoy their church and various civic
activities. Dr. Davis’ hobbies include music, history, and golf.
Dr. Davis has been a leader in Georgia dentistry, both in the realm of
education and service. He has been invited to lecture to numerous dental
societies and been a speaker on the program at several dental conventions.
He is a visiting faculty member at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental
Education (visit
www.pankeydentist.org). To maintain his commitment to stay abreast of
the latest advances in dentistry, he is an active member of the Atlanta
Dental Study Group, and the Hinman Dental Society.
Dr. Davis served two terms as president of the Georgia Dental Education
Foundation. He has also been president of the Atlanta area district of the
Georgia Dental Association. He has been state coordinator for Children’s
Dental Health Month and served three terms in the GDA House of Delegates.
In recognition of his service to his profession, Dr. Davis has been elected
to honorary societies such as the International College of Dentists, the
Georgia Academy of Dental Practice, and the Pankey One Triple Plus Club.
But what REALLY matters to Dr. Davis are his patients. His passion for
dentistry comes from a genuine desire to offer each patient dental care that
represents his very best effort. And he knows that a commitment to
excellence is best assured by a true caring and concern for every individual
in his practice.
Dr. Davis’ father had a long business career with a little company called
IBM. In the 1960’s, every manager at IBM was given a plaque to go in their
office. The plaque stated the “IBM Basic Beliefs” by which they were to
operate.
Dr. Davis still believes in the core principles printed on those IBM plaques
so many years ago. His father’s plaque hangs on the wall of his private
office today. It says:
IBM Basic Beliefs:
- Respect for the
individual
- Best possible service
to our customers (patients)
- Every task performed
in a superior manner
